X7 - Great Divide 16th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA

The nose is very deep, creamy and complex with lots of fudge, milk chocolate, vanilla, muscovado sugar and some smoky notes. Very deep and very sweet. A bit too sweet for my liking. But the nose is complex and interesting, besides the sweetness.

But the taste is a mess - sweet dark fruit, a sharp bitterness and oak chips flavours - all very unbalanced. The different parts of the taste is all over the place and they don´t act together. Almost Bourbon-like in the finish.

A nice nose but a hidious taste.
