No 110 - Orkney Skull Splitter (Scotland)

This strong (8,5%) Scottish beer opens up with a deep creamy nose with notes of ripe yellow fruits, saw dust, milk chocolate and a touch of whisky - is it the origin, or...?
The taste is big and tight with semi dry fruit, a fresh bitterness and a long finish where the alcohol, sorry to say, takes over a bit. A good warmth, but the alcohol creeps up a tad too much.

82p   (tasted from bottle - 2011/05)
