Even more Triples!

I can´t get enough of these Belgian beauties so I had to gulp down two more! :-)

X50 - Gouden Carolus Tripel  (Belgium)
A very deep, fruity, medium sweet nose with notes of lemoncello, oatmeal cereal, orange peel and wet stones. Very balanced. A lovely sweetness, that of perfect ripe peaches or pears. Stunning nose!
The taste is fine, fresh and balanced with lovely sweet yellow fruit and a ripe bitterness. A very long and intense finish. Very polished structure. Just lovely!

No 85 - Maredsous 10 Triple  (Belgium)
A medium dark, fine nose with notes of blood oranges, black fruit, wet undergrowth and some chocolate. Gets deeper and deeper with air. Very, very good. The dark fruit is very good. Not that sweet, in a triple sense of a way.
The taste is broad, tight and impressive with dark, pure fruit and a rather massive bitterness. A long, powerful, medium sweet finish with some alcohol warmth. The alcohol (10%) doesn´t bother me but you can feel it, compared to the Gouden Carolus above where the 9% couldn´t be detected at all. But very, very good none the less.

90p   (tasted from bottle - 2011/02)
