No 15 - Red Stripe

A very light nose with some sweetness and notes of cookie dough and flowers. It has an intial scent but after a while its hard to swirle some additional scents from the glas. Very light.
The taste is fresh, light and somewhat short with some almonds notes and dry lemons. Short but correct. If one was very thirsty, this would certainly do the job, but for flavour, go elsewhere.

No 14 - Pilsner Urquell

This has a penetrating, pure nose with notes of grass/hay, cool lemon character and a deep metallic note - in a good way! Very fresh and salivating! Some almonds when it gets a little warmer. A stunning pils!
The taste is as good as the nose, with pure flavours, pure finish and a pure in between. Notes of lemons, grass and wet stones. Cristal pure. A great pils as said before!

X1 - Nynäshamn Galena

X stands for beers that I try that are not in the book - hence the the title of the blog - "1001 Beers.....and beyond!".
Nynäshamn Ångbryggeri is my favourite brewery in Sweden. They always manage to make beers that are really up my alley. And this specialbrew #6, as it is called beside Galena, is no exception.
The nose is very deep and flowery with lots of peaches, lime and grass. The sweetness is pronounced, deep and just great. Very, very good.
The taste is tight and nicely bitter with lots of yellow fruit and a long, balanced finish. The taste is more restrained that the nose but never the less very good. Another winner from Nynäshamn.

No 13 - Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse

A very fresh, fine, open nose with lots of sweet yellow apples, lemon and lime-fruits, almonds and hay. Very good. And it has that intriguing scent of lavatory refreshener.....but in a good way! :-)
The taste is fresh and pure with a lovely apple acidity and sweet lemons. Very long and fresh until the last sip. Very, very good.

No 12 - Fuller´s Golden Pride

This has a deep, somewhat downtoned nose with lots of sweet fruit, some root vegetables and a scorched earthy feeling about it. A touch of sherry. Deep but not that hedonistic.
The taste is big, broad and tight with lots of body, sweetness and a smoky finish. The aftertaste is long but the alcohol (8,5%) creeps through at the end. A good beer but a little less alcohol would have made it even better.
