No 35 - 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Vintage

A deep, penetrating, elegant nose with high notes of sour lemoncello, banana, hay and lots of lime. Interesting nose with lots of character and finesse. Deep, racy and yummy at the same time!
The taste is nice and pure but more liniar than the nose with nice acidity and lemon and grassy notes. It ends with a good dry twist, but I miss some fruit in the middle. Very good though, and the nose is great.

X9 - Staropramen Dark Beer

A fine, deep nose with lots of dark, roasted bread, buttery popcorn and some chocolate. Very creamy on the nose. Rounded. It is nice but somewhat too mellow
The taste is medium bodied with the same dark bread note as in the nose combined with burned almonds and some earthy notes. Medium long with soft bitterness. Good.

X8 - George Gale Trafalgar

The nose is big and malty with notes of dried apricots, cocoa and some burned almonds. A bit sweeping in character but very good. A very traditional english ale. Some of that typical notes of urinal - doesn´t sound that nice but in this context is really is...
The taste is big and broad with lots of dried fruits, some chocolate, old biscuits and wool. The carbon dioxide is rather low but it doesn´t bother me with this kind of traditional bitter.

No 34 - Fuller´s London Pride

A light, discret nose with notes of milk chocolate, almonds and a touch of detergent. The nose of this classic is good but it seems to lack some real character.
The taste is fine and cool with some dry lemon, hay and dried fruits. Fine, medium long finish. This is pleasing but it doesn´t stand out.

No 32-33 Budweiser and Budvar Svetlý Lezák

Tasted these two summer refreshers in snowy november... They both have a long heritage - the Budweiser was first brewed in 1876 and the czech version began its life in 1895.

The nose of the american version is very light but fresh and there is some notes of hay/grass and soft hop notes. Light and pure and harmless.
The taste makes one think of that Monty Python qoute "fucking close to water" - it is pure, fresh and well made but it doesn´t taste anything! For drinking on a very hot day when there is no water...
76p   (tasted from bottle - 2010/11)

The czech variant is much better on the nose with nice notes of lemon and grape fruitpaired with freshly cut grass. Light but nice, and has character, compared to its american friend.
The taste is fine, cool and fresh with fine bitterness and a long, lingering, light finish. A much better beer to drench your thirst with.

X7 - Great Divide 16th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA

The nose is very deep, creamy and complex with lots of fudge, milk chocolate, vanilla, muscovado sugar and some smoky notes. Very deep and very sweet. A bit too sweet for my liking. But the nose is complex and interesting, besides the sweetness.
But the taste is a mess - sweet dark fruit, a sharp bitterness and oak chips flavours - all very unbalanced. The different parts of the taste is all over the place and they don´t act together. Almost Bourbon-like in the finish.
A nice nose but a hidious taste.

No 31 - Nils Oscar Kalasöl

A big, fine, malty nose with notes of dark bread, dried raisins, dark chocolate and some undergrowth. Very good. Deep and interesting.
The taste is broad and medium bodied with notes of red and black fruits, chocolate and some dusty notes. A long and fresh finish with nice bitterness. Very good.
