X59 - 2010 Goose Island Pere Jacques (USA)

Have been longing for a taste of this one - the Goose Islands beers have always impressed me, and this proved to be no exception!
The nose is deep, tight and concentrated with notes of sweet lemons, cookie dough, pan roasted nuts and english fudge. Very complex and captivating. Very, very deep. White raisins after a while. Just a lovely scent.
The taste is big and elegant at the same time, with a great structure and notes of marzipan, fudge, orange peel and a touch of tar. A long, balanced finish. A lovely creamy feeling. This is a striking beer!

X58 - Harviestoun Mr Sno´balls (Scotland)

A soft, round, nice nose with notes of fudge, cereal, sugar water and road dust. Not that deep. Rather light in fact, but cleanly made.
The taste is cool, nice and easy to drink, with notes of dried fruits, fudge and a low, nice bitterness. It is too nice to be noticed. Crisp and clean though. The label is maybe the best thing with this one...
